Confessions of a Makeup Addict {Atlanta Boudoir Photography}

Hello my little lovelies! I wanted to share with you some of the beautiful, vintage inspired makeup looks that are being seen everywhere from the runway to the office!

This winter there are two dominant makeup trends to look forward to. The modern take on the cat eye and doll lashes, both very feminine looks with a lot of retro and vintage inspiration.  These two trends are very wearable, seeing as you can do several variations of them depending on your mood. The cat eye has always been a staple in the makeup world getting its roots from the 1950′s. To get this look I like to use an angled brush for a more precise application and better blending.  Start by drawing  a thin line with your eyeliner pencil from your inner corner of the eye and gradually increasing the thickness of the eyeliner as you move towards the outer corner of the eye. As you approach the outer corner of the eye move slightly in an upward direction to create the wing or the cat eye effect. I then like to go back with an angled liner brush and soften the line and accentuate the winged out effect on the outer corner. Make sure you apply at least two coats of mascara and then if you’d like to amp it up a notch try a bold shade of red on the lips. Different variations of this look include using a soft caramel gold color instead of the typical black liner, making double lines on the lid for a more avante garde look or squaring off the ends of the liner instead of a sharp wing.

Doll lashes are one of my favorite looks! You can achieve this by using half strip lashes or simply two good coats of lenghtening mascara and then curling the lashes. Keep the eyeshadow simple and soft and your cheeks and lips sublte with a nice sheer wash of pink or peach color!

Here’s an example of the trend from Becky’s recent Shoot!

Dita Von Teese Lingerie for Target {Atlanta Boudoir Photography}

Dita Von Teese is designing a line of lingerie for Target!! The Von Follies Line will launch in February 2012! It’s only available in Australia currently:(..they are however, prepping the brand for global distribution.

In her press release when describing her inspiration, Dita Von Teese noted, “There are so many vintage lingerie pieces I love that I haven’t been able to find in all my years of collecting. I wanted to design pieces that are tributes to my vintage obsessions, to make them beautiful and functional, while modernising them for everyday wear.

I’ve had a longtime fascination with the 1950’s era overwire bras. It’s something that has been quite a task to create, but the end result is so chic, and so unique, I’m very proud of it. It’s a statement piece meant to be seen. I am also very happy with the beautiful panties we’ve made and can’t wait to have them in my lingerie drawer! They are so comfortable and sexy, and flattering on any shape,” she said.

According to a press release, the lingerie pieces will enhance “the feminine silhouette that Von Teese is world renowned for representing.” Also, “The launch range combines sophistication and sensuality with glamorous touches such as grosgrain and velvet ribbons, delicate eyelash lace, and control mesh to give the essence of the sultry 1950′s pin up girl.”

Dita says, “It was important to me to accomplish the task of making these beautiful things in sizes that can make any woman feel sexy and glamorous, and I’m very proud that we have been able to do that, while keeping prices affordable.” Bra’s will be available to an E-cup and some styles of briefs will go up to size 20! They are cost efficient as well, ranging from $17-$79!
